REVEAL: $100 Small Bathroom Makeover!!! (Tons of ideas for inexpensive upgrades)

So I made over my bathroom...on a $100 budget!

bathroom makeover, powder room, bathroom makeover budget, rachael ray

You seriously have NO idea how excited I am to finally be able to show off my brand spankin' new powder room!  I couldn't be happier with how it came out especially given all the "firsts" I faced - wallpaper, beadboard, trim, building...  What makes me even happier is that I was able to come in under my $100 budget.  It's hard to believe looking at the before and after pictures that this could be done for less than one hundred buckos, but I assure you it was!

Tips for Finding the Perfect Entryway Furniture

I'm very excited to welcome a guest blogger today.  Angie is here with some amazing tips - and beautiful ideas - for decorating the perfect entryway.

The entryway is usually the basis of your guests’ first impression regarding the interiors of your home. It also serves as an area to stash personal items and belongings that family members have as they come and go. These are reasons in themselves that warrant attention to decor for this functional room. Below are some tips to finding the perfect furniture for your abode’s entryway.

Consider the size of the entryway

Before you go and decide to place that well-loved antique furniture in your entryway, it’s best to know the size of the room that you’re working with. It helps to plan out placements that can either make the room feel cozier than it already is or give off an impression of being larger than its actual size. This is equally important in selecting furniture. Smaller entryways should opt for less furniture and more multipurpose pieces.

$45 Laundry Closet Makeover REVEAL (Before and After)

So there's good news and bad news. The good news is the laundry room/closet makeover is complete.  The bad news is the washer decided to conk out completely about 3.2 seconds after I added the final touch and now we are shopping for a new washer.   I really wasn't planning to take the laundry room makeover that far - after all I was on a $100 budget here - but when life gives you lemons you make lemonade  a broken washer the laundry piles up fast!

That being said....I could not wait a minute longer to finally reveal my new laundry room.

DIY July 4th Wreath with Glitter Dust Paint

I just jumped on the pool noodle wreath bandwagon and whipped myself up a new front door July 4th wreath.  This is a fun project and pretty inexpensive, too.

7 Family-Friendly Ways to Celebrate the First Day of Summer!

I have been trying to get my soon-to-be first grader to do her summer school work for weeks...but she keeps insisting "It's not summer until June 21."  That means starting tomorrow she'll be on board, right?  I think we'll push it off until Monday since this year the first day of summer is a Saturday and I want to get everyone outdoors for a fun family day!

Katie is joining us today on behalf of Hefty with a guest post and some fun outdoor ideas for spending the first day of summer somewhere other than hunched over a desk doing work.  I'll let Katie take it from here...

June 21st is the first day of summer this year.  Since it is on a Saturday this year, it is the perfect day to fit in all sorts of outdoor activities!  The first day of summer is actually the longest day of the year (from sunrise to sunset), so that means you will have plenty of time to fit everything in.

DIY Painted Chevron Border Rug

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of FrogTape. All opinions are 100% mine.

The mini makeover on my pack patio took another step forward this week.  I painted a rug. Yes, I painted a rug. With the help of FrogTape® Shape Tape™ I took a plain ol' gray rug and added a little interest.

This project has been on my to do list for months. I wanted an outdoor rug for the sitting area in front of our patio fireplace. I didn't want to spend much money on a rug that would get rained on and be subject to hours of direct sunlight.   I spent less than $18 on this 8x10' indoor/outdoor rug.  To 'fancy' it up I added a white chevron border to the edges.

Oh, and more good news we have a guest co-host this week! Meet Cindy from DIYBeautify! This girl is good, my friends so check out here blog asap!  I'll let Cindy introduce herself....
Hi, I'm Cindy. I started my blog, DIY beautify, last August as a creative outlet and way to stay busy after moving from FL to TN (unpacking boxes just wasn't cutting it anymore, lol!). Blogging takes more time and brain power than I ever dreamed, but I love it. Creating beauty is my passion and doing it on a tight budget is my challenge. I like to take ordinary objects or discards and turn them into one of a kind treasures! People walk into my home and tell me it's like walking into Pinterest....that's the best compliment I could ever receive! I hope you'll come visit me soon at
