Washi Tape Storage

So a few weeks back I majorly scored on Pick Your Plum...I got 10 rolls of Washi Tape for something like $13.  Totally cleaned up, right?!   Of course, now I have a Washi Tape storage problem.  That's a fine problem to have, if you ask me.

Apologies for the grainy picture here I was so excited to get these spring designs out, I ripped the package open pretty much immediately!

Conveniently, we finished up a jar of dijon mustard at about the same time and I knew instantly the cute little jar would be perfect for my stash of washi tape.  Holla!   What better way to decorate my storage jar than with Washi Tape itself?  The best part was, when I removed the sticker from the jar it left a sticky - but pretty clear - residue behind. That was perfect for sticking on my design.

I cut stripes of the tape - all roughly the same length - and lined them right next to each other on a piece of plain white computer paper so that I could cut them with my Silhouette.  I created the design in the Silhouette software and then cut it out on the machine.  If you don't have a Silhouette or other die cut machine, you could always trace a design onto the washi tape and then cut it out.  (For a more detailed Silhouette tutorial on this project head over to our sister site Silhouette School.)

Once the design was cut out I just slapped it onto the sticky residue that was still left behind on the jar. There were a few spots that wanted to peel up so I added a little mod podge to those areas and stuck them onto the jar.  I finished her up by wrapping a piece of washi tape around the threads at the top of the jar.

How's that for a cute way to store my washi tape stash?

Now if you have a Silhouette, or you're thinking about getting one, you need to hop on over to Silhouette School because right now there's a $100 Silhouette Gift Basket giveaway that you do.not.want.to.miss!
