That, my friends, is why I love the dollar store. Right before Christmas I went in looking for some gold chargers for my Christmas table. I found them for one dollar a piece. Guess what...they even have the beaded edge, just like Pottery Barn's. I picked up six...you know, for $6.
'Read More' after the jump to see my Pottery Barn knockoff table setting....
They look suspiciously like Pottery Barn's Emma Dinnerware line, don't they? A set of 4 Pottery Barn beaded plates (below) will set you back $48. I paid...$6 for 6.

Don't get me wrong...I'm not trying to bash Pottery Barn. No, quite the opposite. You know what they say - imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. I love Pottery Barn...in fact most of dining room is from there.
We spent thousand on a beautiful solid wood Pottery Barn dining room table set, buffet and hutch several years back. My Christmas table runner was purchased on Pottery Barn clearance a few years ago after the holiday, as were the cloth napkins.
I love the look of PB, but the prices often scare me away. So when I can get a very similar look at just a fraction of the price, that makes me giddy!
And now...as I write this I'm kind of second guessing myself, wondering if I should go back and buy six more of each...my husband might kinda, sorta, maybe kill me if I do that considering we've NEVER eaten on the 12 sets of china - that sit in our Pottery Barn hutch - we got for our wedding.
NOTE: I have been getting a lot of questions about which dollar store I found the plates and chargers. I bought them at Deals - which I believe is a branch of Dollar Tree. Not everything is a dollar at Deals, but the plates and chargers were.
Thanks for stopping by 2IY! If you like what you see, we'd love for you to pin it!
