12 DIY Projects for Busy Moms! (March Wrap Up)

It's time for a look back at some of what we did around here in March!   Looking back I realized that so many of the DIY projects we shared, last month, were completed in less than an hour.  As a busy mom of two - a 5 year old and a 2 year old - I am often squeezing projects in during nap time. DIY projects and crafts have to be pretty fast for me or else they are left half finished.

Here are 11 busy mom-approved DIY ideas.  Just click the title above each photo to go to the tutorial.

Link It or Lump It Link party #23 {Plus Features}

Well, I survived the week (barely)...the snow, the never-ending snow days, and the polar vortex nearly leveled me...but I'm back with the 23rd edition of the Link It or Lump It link party.  Whew! Every week more and more of you are linking up which means this party is getting better and better. Plus this week we're super excited because we have our very first guest co-host! Meet Brittany the blogger behind Confessions of a Secret Crafter.

I hope to inspire you to love crafting, and to provide the tools necessary for you to live life fashionably while on a modest budget.

10 Most Popular DIY Projects of 2013 {by 2IY}

As we round out 2013, I thought it would be a good time to look back at 2IY's top 10 most popular DIY projects of the year.

I am often surprised by what 'takes off' or goes viral on social media and on the blog.  Sometimes I post something and think, "Wow, this is gonna be really popular" and then it's a flop.  Other times I think "Well, this is interesting to me, but I wonder if anyone else will really care" and then it goes wild with pins, retweets, and shares.

So, to all of you who continue to visit and read and share the ideas we've shared here on Two It Yourself, I thank you for helping make this little blog so successful since our launch not that long ago in April 2013...

And now here were our Top 10 Most Popular Projects/Posts in 2013:

8 DIY Drop Cloth Projects

I just got paid the biggest compliment.  A Two It Yourself reader left a comment on my Pottery Barn-inspired DIY Monogrammed Wine Bags saying she thought my version was actually the Pottery Barn bag.   Wow! Amazing...and to think I made my wine bags with a....drop cloth.

20 DIY Burlap Ideas: For the love of all things burlap!

I may be slightly obsessed with burlap for the moment  month  season year....but I promise you there is a good reason why.  Burlap, while it can be a real mess to work with, is one of the most versatile mediums (did I really just write 'mediums'?? Just trying to up my game from my usual 'things') I use to create.  I have made everything from toilet paper napkin rings to wreaths and pillows with burlap.

Since I love it so much I thought I would share my love of all things burlap today with a great big roundup of some really cool DIY burlap crafts and projects we've featured right here on 2IY...so here goes.  You can click each photo to be taken directly to the tutorial.

20 Beautiful & Easy Christmas Decorations

http://www.hometalk.com/b/1310790/simple-and-beautiful-christmas-decor
I'm semi-hiding from the Thanksgiving police as I write this post, because I fully recognize it's not even Turkey Day yet I've been sharing DIY Christmas ideas.  Well, this one I'm blaming on Hometalk

The fine people over at my favorite home and gardening website asked me to curate a board of Simple and Beautiful Christmas Decor after my square pine cone wreath (see after below) caught their eye.  Lucky for you, I'm sharing these great DIY Christmas Decorations with you, too.

All of the Christmas decorations are homemade and they're all uniquely different and beautiful in their own way.   In my search for the best of the best on Hometalk I've found everything from a stunning 'Joy to the World'-themed light mantel marquee to Christmas trees made out of books, burlap, and paper to festive holiday signs and Pottery Barn knockoffs.

You can find the full tutorial for each of the projects by clicking on the link in the description of each of these simple, easy-to-make, and beautiful Christmas decorations below.  {Read more to see the full list...}

If you've been following along for awhile you know I've been decorating for fall since what feels like  the first of September August.  This year I made a lot of DIY fall decor so I thought I'd do a great big roundup and take you, my lovely readers, on a fall home tour.   Like a lot of you, I am a busy mom to two little ones, so I know DIY decorating ideas must be fast, easy and cheap.

You're welcome, in advance :)
